Our culturally derived aggressiveness is not a genetic quality of human nature as has been previously thought and fervently articulated in anthropological literature. It appears we have begun to wake up to the reality that we are an integral part of nature and that our future success as an evolutionary organism will depend on what kind of relationship we will continue to foster with our environment.    Bioregionalism was formulated to address the exploitive nature of our current societies and the fact that we are now in danger of extinction as a species in the near future. It also believes that we have no right to destroy the Earth and must respect the rights of all the entities on this planet, both living and non-living.     The ecological perspective related to personalism asserts that humans are part and parcel to the natural world and to the cosmos at large and thus, the inherent nature of the individual is in fact the inherent nature of the universe.
